| Glenn Battles of Sugar Pines Farm in Chesterland Ohio won first place in the Spruce category and Grand Champion overall at the Ohio State Fair in August 2010 with this Blue Spruce pictured with Glenn. Berkey's Nursery was the source of the seedling.

Hello Kathy, We spoke on the phone awhile back and I ordered the Canaan Firs from your nursery. I just wanted to let you know how nice the “trees” are. I was expecting a smaller size I guess. I have ordered from others before and usually everything is smaller than expected or what they advertise. You wonder what ruler they are using, ha, ha! But wow, was I shocked to see how great looking these are. I am very pleased. We planted them at our tree farm this past weekend. It was kinda warm but they got some rain here in Ohio yesterday. And they were in our starting area for about a week. Keep up the good work. You will be hearing from us again soon. Have a nice day.

Kathy and Dwane, I wanted you both to know that this year’s transplants were extremely nice. All varieties were good size and consistent throughout. ( And yes, I drip irrigate! )
Material in the past was very good, but I think this year’s was consistently nicer.
